1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the TanTaa mobile app and website. By creating an account or using TanTaa, you agree to these Terms and ourPrivacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use TanTaa.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. You must not be barred from using the service under applicable law. TanTaa is not for anyone under 18. We may ask for age confirmation and may remove accounts that do not meet this requirement.
3. Your account
You sign in with Google or Apple. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. Do not share your account or impersonate another person. Information in your profile must be accurate and belong to you. We may suspend or remove accounts that use false identities or misleading photos.
4. The service
TanTaa helps adults discover people nearby, become friends through mutual follows, and chat once a friendship is mutual. Features include profiles, discovery, friend requests, messaging, photos, voice notes, reactions, calls and privacy controls. Features may change, and some may be limited by your device, location or membership.
TanTaa is a platform for introductions. We do not guarantee that you will meet anyone, that another member is who they say they are, or that a connection will be safe or successful. Use your own judgement, meet in public places, and tell someone where you are going.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the photos, text, voice notes and other content you create. You grant TanTaa a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, display and transmit your content as needed to operate, secure and improve the service. This licence ends when you delete your content or account, except for backup copies, legal requirements and content shared with others that they have not deleted.
You confirm that you have the rights to the content you upload and that it does not violate anyone else’s rights. Do not upload intimate images of another person without their consent.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Harass, threaten, stalk, abuse or discriminate against another person.
- Impersonate anyone or create a fake profile.
- Send spam, scams, chain messages or unauthorised advertising.
- Share another person’s private information without permission.
- Upload illegal content, non-consensual intimate imagery, or content that sexualises minors.
- Record calls or conversations without the other person’s consent.
- Solicit money, financial details or passwords from other members.
- Use bots, scrapers or automated tools to access TanTaa.
- Attempt to bypass security, access another account, or disrupt the service.
- Use TanTaa for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms.
We may remove content, limit features, suspend accounts or report conduct to the relevant authorities where we believe these rules have been broken.
7. Friends, messaging and calls
Messaging unlocks only when both people follow each other. You can unfollow, remove a friend, block or report another member. Blocking removes the friendship and prevents further discovery, messages and calls between the two accounts. We may also restrict messaging where needed for safety.
Voice and video calls are for personal, non-commercial use. Do not record a call without the other person’s consent. Emergency services are not available through TanTaa.
8. Safety and moderation
We review reports and may remove content or accounts. We are not able to monitor every conversation in real time and do not guarantee that every member is safe. Trust your instincts. If someone makes you uncomfortable, block and report them. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
9. Memberships and billing
TanTaa may offer optional paid plans, including TanTaa Plus at $1 per month and TanTaa Premium at $2.99 per month (prices in USD, excluding applicable taxes). Paid plans are not live in the app yet. When they become available, purchases will be processed by the app store or payment provider shown at checkout, and their terms will also apply.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- You can cancel through the store or billing provider used for the purchase.
- Cancellation stops future renewals; access generally continues until the end of the paid period.
- We may change prices or plan features with notice where required by law.
- Refunds are governed by the relevant app store and applicable consumer law.
10. Third-party services
TanTaa uses Google and Apple sign-in, app stores and infrastructure providers. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
11. Our intellectual property
The TanTaa name, wordmark, asterisk mark, design, software and content we create are owned by TanTaa or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute or use our branding without written permission, except as needed to use the app normally.
12. Disclaimers
TanTaa is provided “as is” and “as available” to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or that the service will meet every expectation. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TanTaa is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss arising from another member’s conduct, content or offline interactions. Our total liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or the minimum amount required by applicable law. This does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Termination
You can stop using TanTaa at any time and request deletion of your account through our account deletion page. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect members and the service. Some provisions, including content licences for already shared content and liability provisions, survive termination.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. We will publish the changed Terms here and update the date above. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice where required. Continuing to use TanTaa after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where TanTaa is established, without limiting mandatory consumer protections available in your country. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of that jurisdiction, unless local law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
